TRANSFER FACTOR PROMOTION
Now, I know that some health nutts are look`n @ this title and shak`n their heads but I have a legitimate reason for this subject matter.
I`m sure that some of u have heard about transfer factor cardio? Well, for those of u who don`t know what this is; transfer factor cardio provides comprehensive support for the cardiovascular system. Basically, these are supplementals that help in the transference of energy while work`n out. By help`n the cardio vascular system work smoother, energy can smoothly b transfered 2 areas that r work`n harder. So if u`r run`n, they divert and smoothly transfer energy 2 the legs, or if pump`n iron, energy is smoothly transfered 2 the arms. . . .etc.. . .
Recently, neo-soul artist, Musiq (formerly known as Musiq Soulchid), was given the honor of perform`n the national anthem @ the Michael Jordan classic high school basketball tournament. Folks, as a neo-soul artist, hell as a professional singer, the things that a person shouldn`t 4 get are: 1). U`r name 2). u`r heritage 3). the words 2 the national anthem (or negro spiritual anthem, especially if perform`n @ an NAACP national conference).
We all know that he must have known some time n advance, that he was go`n 2 sing this song. How much time does it take 2 sit down and rehearse the words 2 a song that u`ve sang since u were n kindergarden? I`ve researched, that recently some schools don`t allow/require 4 students to sing the national anthem but Musiq is well n his 20`s almost 30`s, so that`s no excuse.
Which leads me 2 the topic 4 2 day; was Musiq practic`n a transfer factor promotion theory? This phrase has been coined as a "brosia-ism". A "brosia-ism" is a word derived from K.D. Brosia. . . . (no brainer). B lieve it or not this is not a new act, just a new word 2 describe the act. And the act is something that we`ve increasingly seen n the entertainment industry. Transfer factor promotion is a ploy 2 create a promotional buzz by do`n questionable acts b 4 a new, major work release/album or movie debut. . . .
Let`s take 4 instance, the Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake breast incident n the superbowl a few years ago.. . .This was a transfer factor promotion stunt put n 2 full motion. Janet, at that time, was soon 2 release a new album a few months follow`n that incident. Did she use the incident 2 create a buzz? Or was it a mere accidental breast feed`n frenzy. . . .?
No matter what the choice or answer, this little stunt costed the t.v. station millions, she was forced 2 cancell some t.v. appearances and embarressed herself as well as many of her sponsors( so much that she was forced 2 apologize). But what did this stunt do 4 the sell of Janet`s album that drop a few months after? The album entitled, "Damita Jo", debuted @ No. 2 the week of April 4-10, 2004 but was knocked out of the spot the follow`n week by Ushers, "Confessions". Not 2 mention that, many of the radio stations weren`t giv`n her album the hype and representation on the airwaves needed 2 help keep an album n the high rank`n bracket. The same article even goes on 2 talk about a similar stunt performed by Madonna and Brittney Spears. The only difference was that their clothes stayed on but the 2 exchanged an intimate kiss on stage ( can`t wait til both of their children c that spot). Musiq, I don`t know what u`r motives were brother but I pray that this doesn`t come back 2 bite u n u`r azz. . . . . .Neo-soul brother, the diversity of minds and reality of real music. WE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are not supposed 2 play n 2 that game of gimmicks and worldly ways. WE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! r supposed 2 be the essence of realism. . . Well, 1 thing is 4 sure; u realistically 4 get the words to the anthem.
Don`t get me wrong, we all make mistakes but the word "professional". . . . U r not the average Joe, Tom, Dick or Harry. .. . .
