AMERICANS UNITED CIVIL MOVEMENT

AMERICANS UNITED CIVIL MOVEMENT (AUCM)

Although I am deeply saddened by the deaths of the to NYPD police officers (Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos) I must address the topic of respect.

In the past I have published works predicting the next civil war in America. This post further validates reasons why civil war will be eminent if American leaders don't get an understanding on what American society will not stand for.
It is evident that so many of the current issues between public citizens & police have been caused due to a lack of respect for authority. This lack of respect has been shown from politicians,  preachers, doctors, teachers and policemen. All of these "trustworthy" positions require some level of trust between the public and the person perform'n the job.
The facts are, politicians don't show respect to the president or his family (http://politic365.com/2012/01/27/the-10-worst-moments-of-disrespect-towards-president-obama/). Police don't respect politicians (http://m.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/bratton-police-distrust-de-blasio-article-1.2058732#bmb=1). Civilians don't respect the police (http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN0K71D820141229?irpc=932 ). Politicians (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wikiList_of_federal_political_scandals_in_the_United_States) , teachers (http://mobile.wnd.com/2014/10/female-gym-teacher-rapes-boy-30-times/), preachers (http://rt.com/usa/196020-alabama-pastor-aids-sex/) & police (http://articles.latimes.com/2013/nov/25/local/la-me-judge-ucla-20131126) disrespect civilians .
More specifically, with this trickle down effect of lack of respect, how do we systemically bridge the growing gap between civilians & police. The biggest issue is that police are supposed to be the mediating force for all of society to co-exist. But historically police officers have been placed in a precarious situation that causes them to have to choose between their job and their rights/beliefs as citizens. American Revolution April 19, 1775 – September 3, 1783, was this countries first documented war, over charters & fought between police and civilians (http:/en.m.wikipedia.org/wikiBattles_of_Lexington_and_Concord). The Civil War April 12, 1861 - April 9, 1865 was fought over whether states could or couldn't have slaves in essence. Both, Confederate and Union, forces used civilian and police/military aid. The Civil Rights Movement 1954-1968 was largely fought due to injustices & police brutality against minorities. This civil war was clearly regulated strongly in part by police officers that targeted minorities, especially blacks. In each of these civil movements police officers played a vital role in regulating society's tempo in the outcome of these events.
I realize that in any and every position on earth "good"and "bad" people exist. However, in dealing with the facts, police officers are strongly to the public like a thermostat is to a heating/cooling unit. They have the ability to help escalate or de-escalate situations in most instances. How effective have most departments around the country been at using this tool as an asset to help build a positive reputation of their departments and the image of policemen as a whole?
Here we are in the eve of 2015 & by my calculations civil unrest has breached our horizon. I'll let ya in on a secret, the brotherhood of policemen is strong. Make no mistake that all cops know that a good cop with no back up is a potentially dead cop. So every officer is very careful not to step on any toes because the politics, in the police realm, is literally cut throat. So don't expect abstrair police officers to step up & independently attempt to make the first move in an effort to mend relationships between their departments & the public.
The American government is the service man to repairing the dilapidated unit. When the controls go out, a service man is called out to fix the unit & restore a temperatured balance.
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, you have not been returning calls from civilians who r demand'n some kind of insulation/protection during this brutal climate of hostility. Your answering machine is telling us to just follow the directions provided by each specific unit. However, the units are outdated and the printed instructions have become blurred from the constant use of handling the unit. You see, recent global warming has caused an increased use of the unit. Because of the over usage, the unit has leaks & worn out parts that are no longer as effective and in most cases have become defective over the course of time. I know that you were closed for the holidays but this an issue that I, we-my American family, would like to be immediately resolved in this new year. I do know that the vents are dirty, appear to be corroded & it's geting hard for me to breathe. Please return the call immediately. I can be reached in my Ferguson, Missouri;  Staten Island, New York; Los Angeles, California; Denver, Colorado; Jackson, Mississippi; Hillsborough County, Florida;  Atlanta, Georgia; Skokie, Illinois; New Orleans, Louisiana; District Heights, Maryland; Kansas City, Missouri; Passaic, New Jersey; Doña Ana County, New Mexico; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lima, Ohio; Portland, Oregon; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Goose Creek, South Carolina; Houston, Texas; Spokane, Washington and Milwaukee, Wisconsin state offices ( http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cases_of_police_brutality_in_the_United_States).
Someone has to establish a code of conduct, American government. If you don't then the people will. & when the people decide on what we want, we fight & historically we have won! #Icantbreathe #alllivesmatter #handsup #weshallovercome #givemelibertyorgivemedeath #neversurrender #KDBrosia #policemafia #AmericansUnitedCivilMovement #AUCA

WHAT'S GOOD 4 THE GOOSE

What's good 4 the goose is good 4 the gander. . .

I want 2 make a point but I need u'r help.

LIE OR TRUTH:

U plan & invite me 2 a surprise birthday party 4 me but u inform me that the party is 4 some 1 else. I tell u that I'll attend but on the night of the party I don't show, did I lie?

LIE OR TRUTH:

I send out personalized text, emails & invites 2 every 1 n my contact list ask'n family, friends & Brosiacs 2 come 2 the show. Most of the people respond & say that intend or plan on come'n but on the night of the show only a handful of people show; did those who didn't show lie?

How would u perceive me if u ask me 2 perform @ a private party & I say that I will. But on the day of u'r party I'm a "no call/no show"? Many of u would b upset b/c I broke a mutual agreement. U were x-pect'n me 2 provide an audience w/a source of entertainment.

As an independent artist, I depend on people's "word of mouth promise" n order 2 survive. N most cases my future gigs r based on the turn out of a previous gig. So when I tell a promoter that I can bring a hundred people, b/c that's how many of u assured me that u'd come (via facebook) but only 20 of u actually show I have just faulted on my agreement w/a venue.

Many of u have been constantly ask'n when will I release new music. O.k. I'm write'n new music but how do I get it recorded? U c, my 9-2-5 is music so when those 80 people don't show up they cut 3/4 of my pay.

Often times when that happens I [the artist] don't get paid b/c that moneys goes 2 the band & over head cost (promotions, gas, etc...). Besides, y would I write new music 4 an audience that won't even keep their promise 2 come out & hear it?

Major artist don't necessarily have a big problem w/this b/c "The Suits" put mega money n 2 create'n a hype around the artist b 4 the music is even released.

I am appreciative of all & any support but do me a favor. If u really r tired of hear'n the same ol similar stuff on the radio, c'n the same artist perform the same songs, & pay'n money 4 c.d.'s that sound like they were made n a shower support an artist. Not necessarily me but any artist that u b'lieve n.

& lastly, do what u say u'r gonna do by show'n up. The survival of music depends solely on supportive listeners.

I understand that things come up & plans change but let's all learn 2 b true; make what we say match what we do.

Out Of The Closet

2Day I'm com'n out of the closet. . .

Please respond if u want 2 know how & y I've deceived so many of u...

U c, I've managed 2 deceive many of u n 2 think'n that I'm just another vocalist who is here 2 show up on the day of a gig & give u a show. I've deceived u by not x-plain'n how many countless hrs go n 2 pick'n music, learn'n lyrics, write'n changes, arrange'n medley's & teach'n parts.

I've deceived u by make'n it appear that I simply do this only 4 the love of music & that not much else really matters. I've deceived u n 2 think'n that the women, notoriety, parties, travels & praise r just the perks of the business. Most of all I've deceived u n 2 think'n that I'm a perfectionist & that I have a problem admit'n that I'm wrong.

Well 2day, I'm com'n out the closet. The door is open & I'm bear'n all. I'm really not, who I say I am. I'm really not what/who u think u c. Some of u probably c me as a man who has it all. Some of u c me as a man who is always on the go, n & out of cities, states & countries travel'n & galavant'n, sing'n & sex'n. . .LOL

Some of u have even unfriended b/c u feel that I'm arrogant. U feel like I've wronged u on a gig, put u'r business n the streets or come off 2 ya, "the wrong way". Then again, some of u c me as a person that u just don't like. U don't even have a realistic reason other than, "well everybody just don't get along".

I'm com'n out of the closet b/c I want my family, friends & Brosiacs 2 know x-actly who I am.

I'm just a man who gives his best. I am not a perfectionist. I don't attempt 2 do things w/o error. I attempt 2 do things 2 the best that I can. & b/c I don't & won't accept anything less than the best from others who I attempt 2 work with, on an independent level, I've been given some undeserved labels.

Label me how ever u must but the 1 thing that cannot b said is that I've ever shown up 2 anybody's gig or performance sing'n songs out of key, not know'n my lyrics or music, or be'n unprepared 4 the gig. I don't do it 2 u so y would I allow u 2 do it 2 me. Call me whatever u like but please understand music is K.D. Brosia.

I am a professional vocalist. Music doesn't change. No matter what genre, style or culture it's all the same. All music simplifies 2 r rhythms, time signatures, melodies & math. If u approach it any other way u'r behind the game.

A fellow musician said 2 me, "man I don't understand after all the people [major artist] u've worked with, y haven't u made it"? I gave him an answer then but it wasn't an answer that I could speak on with conviction. I now have an answer 4 that man & any 1 else that's wonder'n the same question.

"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?" (Daily Bible, Mark 8.36)
The industry is look'n 4 a few good sheep, I mean bodies. They need bodies they can simply puppettier & manipulate. I'm blessed that a few major artist felt that I had enough talent & drive that they were will'n 2 take me under their wing & school me on a few things (www.cdbaby.com/cd/kdbrosia2).

So technically, I have actually made it. I have caught the attention of many major artist who saw my soul, read my lyrics, heard my music/live shows & have continued 2 encourage me 2 do it the natural way. I'm not gonna b jaded by "The Suits".

I'm com'n out of the closet & I want the world 2 know. I hold myself accountable 4 my deception, what do u hold u'rself accountable 4?~K.D. Brosia 'Soul-Ternative'

ON MY WAY HOME

It's been an entire year since I've last written the world w/my thoughts. & it would b befit'n that I'd get the notion 2 begin write'n again, after my short stint n Japan. What's meant 4 ya, no 1 other than u'rself, can detour u from it.

STORY:

N November I put a bid n 4 a gig @ Misawa base 4 my band, K.D. Brosia & Ambros, 2 perform dur'n the New Years eve program. Due 2 airfare cost, from MS 2 Japan, we were not selected 2 perform @ the party. Needless 2 say, I knew my band mates would b slightly disappointed & so was I. We're a newly formed group, less than a year old. Land'n this gig would've put us n a great light 4 the new year.

Upon receive'n the disappoint'n news, I decided 2 book the first thing smoke'n 2 L.A. . .

3 days after get'n 2 L.A. I received a call @ 5:30AM from an agent ask'n me 2 fill n w/a band n Japan. This just happened 2 b the same gig that my band was rejected 4. Urns out that the lead singer canned on the gig @ the last minute. I was super x-cited 2 get the gig but I only had 1 problem; NO IMMEDIATE PASSPORT! I normally don't travel w/a passport domestically. It's a 2 hr time difference between L.A. & Ms so I immediately called my dad & had him ship my passport, that had just arrived from the Immigration office a few days b 4 I left 4 L.A. Fortunately, the passport arrived the same day by 7PM & the next day I was on a plane, headed 2 Japan.

I arrived n Japan the follow'n day. The day after, I rehearsed w/the band & hit that night. Misawa embraced Soul Cafe, the band that performed @ the gig, with open arms. Even got a little pre New Years eve snow ( www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150557420776095) .

Now that the connections have been made, it's time 2 get my band across the big pond. What a great way 2 welcome n the new year. . .Time 4 me 2 head back home, I got work 2 do. Thanks 2 all the great men/women of my country. Now it's my turn 2 get what is meant 4 me. . .

NEW MAN N TOWN

This year is all about me. I want 2 embrace the new year as my new lover. I'm dedicate'n my life, talents, sexual being, heart & soul 2 this girl. 2011 is my new lover & start'n 2night, I'm give'n it 2 her everyday; like she's never had it b 4.

She's gonna call my name so that all the world knows who's the new man n town. & I'm not gonna use protection b/c I want 2 impregnate her w/my seed of humility, tranquility & tenacity. I will endure as long as GOD gives me breath. I will bridle her wild ways & she learn 2 beckon unto my commands b/c I'm the new man n town.

She wants 2 play. Every thursday she ask me, "r u game? If so, is friday a good night?"

Constantly ask`n me 2 invite my "friends", so they can play 2. But I tell her that the stakes 2 this game r 2 high & most of my friends rn`t will`n 2 give their life for her infinite games of unpredictability. ha ha ha

She kisses me & like the week b 4, tells me "it`s o.k.; u`ll have 2 do 4 now & once u`ve become the new man n town, they`ll all want a touch of me!" With a coy look on my face, I laugh, take off my clothes and begin 2 touch all 88 essential parts of her body. After all, what`s 4play w/o the touch?

The sounds that come out of her mouth never cease 2 amaze me. With all the different ways she can b touched and all the exotic sounds she makes, I now understand how older men talk of make`n love all night long. GOD as my spiritual witness; she takes me there.

But whenever we finish & right b 4 she`s off 2 sleep, she never 4gets 2 remind me that I, am the new man n town!~K.D. Brosia `Soul Talk`

GAVE A MAN WHAT?!

Hey let me tell u something. Not really sure if we`re on the same planet or not but I`m not sure what or who gave u the impression that u could give me or aany man "swagger"[swag, swagga].

How n the tim-buck-2 does a woman think she can teach a man how 2 have swagga? The only thing that a woman can teach a man r the impression of emotions, what feels good 2 most women and the best things 2 say 2 get it. U say`n that u gave a man his swag is almost as ridiculous as a man claim`n that he makes a woman look sexy.

WTH?! What is the world com`n 2. First the government scrutinized a president 4 smok`n weed n college. Now it`s kool 4 a car company 2 knowingly use flakey parts on over 8 million cars, apologize & just get a slap on the wrist?

Then, here u r run`n around tell`n folks that u gave a man swag. . .U probably gave him a lot of things (hell, headaches, great sex) but please don`t get it twisted that u gave something that u-u`rself-don`t even possess. Just cause ya got a little pull and some money doesn`t constitute or appoint u 2 a position that u can determine who u think is worthy of hav`n a swagger title just b/c u claim 2 have given it 2 them. . .JOKE

Baby girl. U need 2 learn how 2 ride a horse with u`r head out of it`s azz b/c it`s mak`n u appear 2 b an azz hoe. . .I mean, azzhole. . .

IT`S JUST A RINGTONE

Let me first start off by say`n, thanks 2 all the Facebookers and/or Brosiacs who have either purchased a c.d., single, ringtone or ticket 2 any of my performances. The support has been & will always b appreciated.

Also, thanks 2 those of u who have sweated me about get`n a c.d., single, ringtone or ticket and never followed through. This has encouraged me and is also appreciated. LMAO.

Some independent artists perform their entire lives and never gain recognition outside of their neighbors, buddies, or local audiences. This is y the launch of my first ringtone, “Love A Woman (Right),” featur`n Stokley Williams of the legendary band, Mint Condition, is so hugely important 2 me.

Ringtone availability blesses me with an opportunity 2 prove my worth and receive serious worldwide recognition as a contender 4 music industry longevity. N essence, this is my "American Idol" moment.

Artists like T-Pain, T.I., Soldier Boy and a host of others gained their fame from ringtone sales. I`m expect`n my ringtone sales 2 have the same affect on the music industry.

It is my aim 2 b, the highest selling ringtone independent artist by 2010. However, n order 2 b successful I need ur assistance. I`m ask`n all Brosiacs 2 spread the word and encourage other friends & family members 2 purchase my ringtone 4 a 1 time payment of 49¢.

Download`n my ringtone is simple. Text 69937. Type listenup4. Accept by text'n "YES" 2 the reply.
Or,
go 2 www.myxer.com, type "K.D. Brosia" n the search engine and download the song from ur computer or cell phone.

Purchas`n my ringtone,"Love A Woman(Right)" featur`n Stokely Williams, allows me an opportunity 2 get better at giv`n u what u need – ‘Music 4 Yo Soul.

MEMOIRS OF A SINGER

K.D.Brosia,MintCondition,Vault,Neo-Soul,R&B, valet,K.D.Brosia,MintCondition,Vault,Neo-Soul,R&B

MEMOIRS OF A SINGER

The K.D. Brosia "Love Is. . ." Valentine`s Day Show was a great success thanks 2 the help of all the people that came out 2 support. Although the house wasn`t packed with bodies, it was completely full of love.

The show was the The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood. Although I`m not a Scientologist I have 2 admit that the facility is state of the art. Prodigy International and I were x-tremely thankful that they allowed us 2 use the place.

We were honored 2 start the show with Felica Webster, a wonderful spoken word artist all the way from Nebraska, and Jeffrey Connor, my big brother and exceptional bassist who has played with everyone from Amel Larrieux to Sly Stone. The pair delivered a seductive mood, setting the tone for the night.

Up next 2 grace the stage was none other than u`rs truly, K.D. Brosia. The band entered the stage 2 a little "something unique is about 2 happen" music. My M.D., Chris "X" Wilson, announced me and the show began.

I came out 2 an up tempo song entitled "Stress`n Me". This song is an all out song. I talk about every aspect of my life and what I do when I get stressed. I also reveal my reasons 4 go`n 2 Japan and how mind boggl`n the open mic night scene is 2 me. By no means is this song a a "soapbox" icon but more like a little insight on the mind set of K.D. Brosia.

This song was fused with a reworked bass line version (meaning different from the album) of "Love Is", which is the single from the Love Is. . . album. After a little audience participation, it was obvious that the audience was locked and loaded 2 follow the Brosia-tic convention n 2 a night of love. . . LOL

After that I took it back down south, with a re-worked version of "Who Am I Fooln`". The album version is kool but it didn`t work well with the order of the songs and keep`n the flow of the show mov`n. So X and I decided 2 give it a blues flare. It seemed 2 go over well with the audience, especially the skit that I used. The skit deals with a 3-step plan 2 get u`r lover back. . . . I thought it was hilarious. . .

Another Day was next on the list. This was yet another re-worked version. However, this song was never included on the Love Is. . .album. It originally was a mid tempo song that had a spoken word section, performed by Maletha Singleton. She wasn`t able 2 attend so I just x-ed the spoken word section and replaced it with band solo`s. X, the M.D., lead off with the solo`s. If I may; he laid down the foundation 4 everyone else 2 show their musical talents. Demetrius Collins was up next on the guitar. A smooth strok`n brother from New York City who definitely put his mark on stage with a quick but intense solo.

Richard Turner, hail`n from Chi-town, blessed the stage next, on keys. He seductively intensified the audience with his George Benson vocalizer patch on the keys. People were literally stand`n up @ their seats 2 get a visual of what he was do`n. Never heard a more creative solo but that`s why he`s such an asset to the Brosia camp; b/c of his x-perience.

And how befit`n that the next soloist up would also b from Chi-town; Romel Veal on bass. He pulled, plucked & popped his way n 2 the hearts of the audience. He was like a cupid on bass (LOL), gently strok`n his strings-like cupid-and shooting his arrows across the venue. . .

Phil Bealle rallied up the list of solo`s on the drums. Although he started the song with a intro. solo, it was only befitt`n 4 him 2 close the song down with his rhythmic cadence and syncopated hits. . . Ambros played their part n 2 the hearts, minds and spirits of the audience. So much that people felt that these group of artist had been play`n much longer than Jan 8, 2009.

I then follow it up with a reprise were I actually played the bass in a live show for the first time.

I have 2 admit, I practiced really hard 2 learn the bass part but completely screwed it. . . .ha ha ha. . .I was all over the place with my notes. I couldn`t hear myself and got confused on the finger`n n a couple of places and was never able 2 recover. But I`m still practic`n and get`n more proficient on my bass.

The next song was "Bed Say (Bump, Bump, Bump)", which was done n collaboration with the infamous Mint Condition. With exception of Stokley`s, the lead singer from Mint Condition, lead part; the track kept it`s original flavor. Hard 2 perfect perfection. . . . This is another track were I use a little audience participation 2 get everyone n the mood. No 2 audiences have responded the same when we do it and but the participants are always festive. Seems 2 always b 1 male or female that has a little problem put`n the words and rhythm 2 gether. . ..LOL

That song segmented into "Soul Food". Now this song is a straight up funk song that deals with current world issues and how the world gives the general population just enough 2 get by, which can b considered "fast food". Soul Food alerts people and then challenges them 2 stop be`n spoon feed and "step n 2 Brosia`s kitchen of soul food" and get full. I also like this song b/c we-the band-get n & out.

"Love A Woman Right" is the next song that tickled the think`n senses of men and woman alike. This is another song collaborated with the Mint Condition family. Most of the people that commented on this song have said, "this song is a classic R&B song that has the potential 2 b a keeper n regards 2 longevity". The hook is catchy and somewhat easy 2 remember from what I`ve been told. However, these days, air play is essential n help`n 2 establish longevity with a an artist song(s)/music. Anything is possible. Look @ Indie Arie, she released her first album 2x`s. First she released the album as an independent artist and then re-released the same album with an addition of a few songs and order change, under the Motown label. Ludacris also did the same thing with his first album. Who knows, K.D. Brosia could possibly b added 2 the list, right?

The final song was "Bye Bye" and rightfully titled so. Record`n this song n the studio was the hardest song I`ve ever attempted 2 record. So I guess u can imagine that sing`n it live is equally as hard. It was actually the hardest song 4 the group 2 master also. In order 2 take some of the pressure off me, I gave the background vocalist a chance 2 show their stuff on this 1. And boy, did they rise 2 the occassion. Lazarus Jones, the vocal director, started off the ride. He laid down a nice firm tenor solo that had people encourag`n him 2 continue with his solo b 4 he even finished.

Rasheda Barner, the alto vocalist, came n with a soft reverberat`n hum and hit this intense note that left the hair stand`n on the back of my neck. And just as quickly and intensely as she began, her solo ended. It was nice though b/c people wanted more but she was obviously finished. LOL

Akua `Ms. Akua` Jones, the soprano vocalist, put the ic`n on the cake with her Anita Baker style of talk sing`n. Her tone was so pure that u could hear a pin drop while her heavenly gift rained over the audience. No 1 could despute that real music was present n the build`n. Her solo was so good that I had 2 come back and touch on it 4 a little bit more. So I scatted,4 a couple of bars and eventually made my way n 2 the vamp and we took it on home.

My manager, Robbie Danzie, came up next and requested that I return to the stage and finish the night on the only cover song of the night, "Can`t Hide Love" and I will`nfully obliged. So we closed the night with my 95bps version of the song.

I have heard nothing but wonderful comments from every 1 that attended the venue. So as we made history on Feb. 14th, I`m prepar`n 4 my next hit which will b @ the Club Savoy on March 4th, for the FlyPoet`s, hosted by Jon Hensley. Stay tuned for musical and video clips from the show and more info. on upcom`n shows. . .

LOVE IS. . .2009

Although I`m sad 2 say it, I haven`t had much 2 say n the year 2008. 4 me it was a year of hard work and a lot of self adjustments.

The year of 2008 was 1 hell of a year. Everything from job changes 2 money shortages, dodg`n bill collectors and a gambit of other obstacles seemed 2 ride my back throughout the year.

Well, I`m here 2 day 2 let the world know that the election of North America`s first black president isn`t the only change that will b occur`n.

On September 11, 2008; K.D. Brosia, along with Prodigy Entertainment, were proud 2 unveil the first american released c.d. entitled, "Love Is. . ." (www.cdbaby.com/cd/kdbrosia2). It has been a local success but still hasn`t gained the momentum that it needs 2 reach the masses. . .

It was a year ago that I made my last post 2 the world and it is now that I`m stat`n my first prediction of the new year, proclaim`n that the world will come 2 know the music of K.D. Brosia. . .

I`m send`n this message out 2 the world, I want 2 do a full fledged tour around the world. This is my goal 4 2009. I know that someone who is read`n this blog can help 2 make this happen. I`ll say it again just 2 make sure; I would like 4 K.D. Brosia ft. Ambros (my band) 2 tour the world as an open`n act or independently n 2009. SELF CONTROL VS. SELF CONSCIOUSNESS

QUICK KEY:
* w/o- without
* b/c- because
* `n- means "ing" @ the suffix
* n- in
* 2- too/two
* R- are
* u- you
* 4- For/four
* @- at
* b- be
* n`t- means not @ the suffix

Please present this 2 all of u`r female/male friends @ work, on the job, @ school or @ play. Secondly, let us (you and I as bloggers) use factual information 2 back up our opinions b 4 we make decisions; begin`n n 2008. ..LOL

The key word that I`m us`n as my basis is self consciousness-self awareness- and nothing else. Self awareness is a constant state. We r always conscious of our self as long as no other force is help`n 2 sustain/support ourself i.e. . . life support system. . . . .
The term self control is only relative 2 the state of our current situation/position. For example, an alcoholic has self control-relative; as long as he/she isn`t n an environment that will encourage he/she 2 drink-state of our current situation. @ this point self control becomes the most important factor.

The fact that we, humans, have a self consciousness is only helpful n judg`n the moral/immoral rights or wrongs of a situation. Everybody has a conscious but, 4 whatever reason, some fail 2 adhere 2 it. 4 example, will u`r self conscious allow u 2 sleep w/ u`r girlfriends boyfriend. R u will`n 2 steal n order 2 eat and not starve 2 death? Can u live with the decision u chose 2 make?

The same factor seems 2 apply when men tend 2 cheat. Will their self conscious allow them 2 continue, throughout the day, w/o chang`n the balance of their day 2 day activity, if they cheat? This question can only b answered by the person himself. Normally the question is balanced by ask`n the opposite of the question by say`n, "will u b able 2 handle the fact that u`r significant other has slept w/ somebody else"? Often times, it is only then; that a man will actually put himself n a neutral position that will honestly allow his self consciousness 2 truthfully represent his true inner self (self control), and refrain from cheat`n or cheat.

THE BROSIA-MA-TAZ WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT

To All of My Brosiacs,

June 11, 2007 marked history 4 the collaboration between myself - K.D. Brosia - and Nu Jynisis. This pivotal performance launched my American-based, worldwide career and the Brosiatic movement of “Music 4 Yo Soul”.

On June 11 over 100 people rallied @ the Temple Bar 2 support my Los Angeles debut performance. And, though ‘thank U’ seems overly simplified, I say it with complete sincerity and gratitude. So, thank U 4 how U showed up and showed out.

This ‘Thank U’ goes out to those that were able to attend and those who were not. Believe me, I understand when stuff happens. Any way, 4 those that could not attend, I want U to feel the tone of the night 2. So, I’m gonna try to describe the basic intensity of the show.

On June 11, by 9pm Temple Bar was wall-2-wall
people. Now, if you know anything about Temple Bar U know it ain’t huge, but rarely does an unknown like myself host such a demonstration of love and support. Again, thank U. The crowd was pretty low key @ the top of my performance, mainly to do technological problems - the mic cord repeatedly fall`n out of the mic and when it wasn’t fall`n out of the mic, the mic was just not wor`n and folks couldn’t hear me. But, when the vocals were finally consistently audible, the rage was on and the fun began. Brosiacs began respond’n. They danced, sang, & a few of them, just plum showed out (.LOL). This natural reaction 2 real music is exactly what is expected from a Brosiac.

The greatest point of the show, 4 me, was when we performed Soul Food/Fast Food - a joint from my upcoming CD “Love Is…,” and sang, “ I`m giv`n bread, break`n fish like Jesus did. Put yo hands up and say amen!” and the entire crowd shouted simultaneously, “Amen.” Everybody was danc`n, clap`n, yell`n and reply`n 2 every call and response I requested. At that magical, mystical moment, I knew that my Brosiacs were feel`n us and our music. Honestly, up until that point I was unsure if the audience was really with me, but by mid show I was confident the music we were giv`n was delicious music 4 the edification of the souls of the people.

Almost 3 weeks after the performance, Brosiacs r still clamour`n about the performance and the energy generated by me and Nu Jynisis. So, 2 the Brosiacs want`n 2 know what’s next 4 K.D. Brosia and Prodigy Mgt., all I can say is, greatness n music, performances and memories.

SHUT UP & JUST LISTEN

DON`T B AFRAID 2 SHUT UP

Been a minute since I`ve picked up the pen & pad. But things have just gotten so clouded that I need 2 vent.

We all have been n situations when a family member, friend, or someone that we talk with, has gone through a hard ship. Often, we try 2 console them with words of wisdom and encouragement. Talk`n 2 them and giv`n references of what we may or may not have done n similar situations.

2 days words of wisdom r gonna really b quick. From this day forward, I would like 2 encourage people that don`t know anything about what a person is go`n through, 2 not b afraid 2 shut up. Just listen.

Yeah. . .I know, everybody can relate 2 somebody elses situation. But don`t b afraid 2 shut up. Just listen. Even if u think u know everything that they`re gonna say about a situation, don`t b afraid 2 shut up. Just listen.

When will people learn that no 2 situations r the same. They rn`t the same b/c no 2 people r the same. More specifically, 2 the people who say they understand my struggle, u don`t b/c u`r not me. So please stop try`n 2 offer me suggestions on how 2 run my career if u haven`t ever tried 2 do what I`m do`n. And 4 those of u who have done what I`m do`n, u haven`t done what I`m do`n, so don`t b afraid 2 shut up. Just listen.

Now, n the event that I ask u what do u think I should do 2 help better my career, by all means fell free 2 give u`r opinions about some decisions that u think I`ve made. Hell, I`d like 2 hear about a few of u`r life screw ups. . . LOL. . .But n the event, that u ask me how things r go`n and I say something that leads u 2 b lieve that I`m not happy; don`t b afraid 2 shut up. Just listen. Chances r, I`m not complain`n, I`m just us`n u as a sound`n board.

I know that u mean well. But I I`m say`n this b/c I need 2 get it out of my system. I`m talk`n about me. I can`t speak 4 other people but n regards 2 me, just listen. I think I have enough common sense 2 know how 2 ask someone what is their opinion about something I`m do`n. Where were u when I only had $300.00 dollars 2 my name? Where were u when I was n Japan and didn`t know how 2 make ends meet? Where were u when I needed financial support 2 get my current album, that is due 2 release n July, pressed and printed?

U were n the same place u r now. N the bed dream`n of "sugar plum ferries" while I`m up w/ a pen and a pad try`n 2 express 2 the world that there is a place 4 everybody. But it`s up 2 each specific individual 2 determine where that place will b. And no Dr. Phil wanna b, untrained or trained head doctor or street doctor is gonna make or break u. What will u do w/ the knowledge that u`ve been given? What will u do w/ the gift, talent, money, body or beauty that u`ve been given?

It`s 4 u 2 decide.. . . .It`s 4 me 2 decide. So please, whenever someone is tell`n u something about themselves or some career moves that they`ve made. Don`t b afraid 2 just shut up. Just listen. U might just learn something.

ME & THEM

ME: There is nothing like be`n n a new year and a new place, with a new car and a new face. All kinds of people, not really a new race but just something that I`ve never seen b 4. They got fast cars and slow cars, big hips and bigger lips; all 4 the sake of a cause.

ME: Me?
ME: My cause?
ME: Well just keep u`r hat`s on b/c this year will mark the year of dreams com`n true. I mean, every year somebody`s dreams come true. But this year, yeah, this year; all of mine r gonna come true. Hell, I`ve already started off the year by mov`n back 2 the states; L.A. 2 b exact. After 5 long years of work`n on my craft n Japan, the kid is back on the block, with a new walk and the same old message; I got a story and I think the world deserves 2 hear it.
ME: Why not? I`ve payed some of my dues. It`s only fair that I come back and let my talent shine. I`m not bragg`n!!!!!!

ME: I`m not talk`n about me. I`m talk`n about the talent that I`ve been blessed with. Stop try`n 2 step on my shine!!!!!

ME: Yeah, I live n L.A. now. No more Japan. No more ohayo`s or konbawa`s or konnichiwa`s. . . .It`s straight up english from here on out playboy. . . . Glad 2 b back. Glad 2 b back.

THEM: So what do I plan on do`n?

ME: LOL. . .funny u should ask because it`s no different from what I was do`n n Asia. I just intend 2 make the same and bigger impact n my own country baby. That`s right Prodigy and K.D. Brosia gonna hit`em where it counts.
Right n the vocal chords. Opportunity is the only feat that we must overcome. All we need is someone 2 just give us that chance 2 prove it 2 some people who will help us make it over the top and on 2 the next goal.

THEM: Man, L.A. is a tough place.

ME: What`s wrong with u? The world, is a tough place. I`ve been from Israel 2 Japan and 1, of many things, that stays persistent is the fact that there are homeless people all over the world. And I don`t plan on becom`n 1 of them. U know what? I really don`t want 2 hear anything else from u. This is my year and my dream. My blog and my scene. I am a Prodigy child and I will succeed. So go back 2 watch`n u`r "American Idol", while I work on becom`n and "American Living Legend".

THEM: I mean, why even come back. Ain`t nothing go`n on n the states but the same ol, same ol. Kat`s is still sing`s @ open mics and act`n a fool n the clubs.

ME: I didn`t leave my asian family because I thought I was better than anybody or b/c I was tired of Japan and all of it`s hidden sentiments of racism; 2 any 1 other than the Japanese race [and n some cases a hatred towards it`s own countrymen]. I left b/c there is much more of the world for the Prodigy child, K.D. Brosia, 2 conquer and spread the message of "Music 4 Yo Soul". Warriors don`t stop @ conquer`n islands; we conquer the the world. This message has got 2 reach the world.

A PROFESSION-NOT A HOBBY

I have 2 admit, things n my life have picked up so much that I don`t have as much time 2 do the blog thing anymore. Actually com`n 2 this page is compariable 2 go`n 2 c a grandmother or aunt, that u haven`t seen n a few years. U know that as soon as u arrive, past feel`n and memories start 2 resurface and the agony of guilt sets n and u start 2 think, why don`t I come and visit more often? I should really visit more often. . . . .lol. . ..That`s kind of how I feel now.

None the less, I`ve managed 2 sneak away from the stress, of the day 2 day worldly pace and bring u a bit of head scratch`n thought. . .Compliments of Musicians Institute [M.I.] students n Japan.

A few weeks ago, my manager and I had the privilege of stand`n b 4 a large audience of M.I. students @ various M.I. schools n Japan. As with many forum type of seminars, the presenter talks about his/her subject and somewhere within the seminar, a question and answer section is thrown n.
The unique consistency about this part of the seminar is that, no matter which location that we went, most of the questions where the same. Some phrased a little more sophisticated than others but all n all, the questions remained consistant. That is, until we reached the Shibuya location of M.I.

After about 5 minutes of answer`n question, a small framed, blond hair, Japanese young man stood up. As the roomed silenced, I could tell that he was respected among his peers. He stood semi-erect and with his bowed slightly down but eyes gaz`n n an upward direction- this is part of Japanese culture; it is 1 of many forms 2 show respect- then, lightly he spoke.

He asked, "what should I do 2 get better @ sing`n ? When I go 2 karaoke, my friends tell me that I`m good and should pursue a singer career. I want 2 get better so I can become a great singer." And just like that, just as quietly and seriously as he had stood up; n the same manner he sat back down. I didn`t want 2 tackle this question, so I looked @ my manager, who quickly tossed the question back n my hat. . . . . . .

2 days topic. . . . .This is A PROFESSION-NOT A HOBBY.

I don`t doubt that this young man was not a good vocalist but n answer`n his question, I had 2 find out if he was a serious vocalist. How long or @ what age did he start sing`n? What type of music did he listen 2? How and what type of music has he studied? All relevant questions and things that a serious vocalist needs 2 do n order 2 set themselves apart.

Many of the questions that I asked, he wasn`t able fully answer nor could he answer with certainty. He was basically of victim of late development. A classic case of a person with a talent that went undeveloped for long and @ best would be limited 2 a certain level of professionalism.

Ladies and gentlemen, let`s b real. Look @ the Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Scott, Robbie Danzie (my manager who sang with a group called Krystol), Michael Jackson, Beatles. . ..etc. . . .These vocalist were sing`n @ church and in the public eye`s since they were 3,4,5 years of age. How is someone @ the age of 19 supposed 2 compete with the likes of someone with this type of expericence?

I`m sure by now, many of u have either heard or seen the Cassie performance on 106 & Park. . . . .Well, if u haven`t u should get it from a friend who taped the show. It has been completely removed from YouTube by the powers that be. Due 2 the amount of negative comments that were posted on the web regard`n how terrible the performance was. It was so bad that Diddy, himself, even admitted that the performance was, "wack". (http://www3.youtube.com/watch?v=lZsPSQOqZoE)

The public spoke out against her and that show. I, unfortunately, wasn`t able 2 c the show. Japan doesn`t allow BET 2 be aired here; some issue with censorship. But if anyone has a copy please feel free 2 hit me with it. Anyway, Cassie is a prime example of what late or no train`n will do 4 someone who is told that they can sing and thinks that they have what it takes 2 be a professional.

Back n the day, Motown didn`t let u touch a mic until they thought u were ready or until u had proved that u were ready. We wonder what has happened 2 the "real music". We, as listeners, have lowered the expectation of what we want and as a result, we r now @ the point that the standard of music is @ a low. I`m not say`n this about all music but generally speak`n, artist don`t care if they`re music stands the test of time b/c it`s all about mak`n records and not mak`n music.

How can u call u`r self a professional but u`r admitt`n 2 the public that u`r still not fully ready because u have 2 work out u`r stage fright, lack of experience or any other excuse. What if u paid money 2 have a "professional ater" arrange u`r wed`n party. But when u and u`r guest arrive, n the place of a wed`n cake is a cupcake. N the place of a well planned out dinner, is service trays for the local county jail with slices of pizza from Chuckie Cheese with the initials of u and u`r spouse engraved on each slice with anchovies. When u addressed regard`n the lack of professionalism, the cater would simply say, "I`m sorry, this is my first party and I was us`n u as a test 2 get better for the next clients. I`m sorry that this isn`t what u want but 4 u`r next wed`n I`ll do better"? I`m sure I can say, there would b some words, fist, and chairs thrown. . .

My point is, nobody wants 2 hear apologies on something that should have been worked out b 4 u deemed u`r self a professional. I pay, u pay, the public pays 2 c results. BET should reimburse everybody who pays 4 BET as part of their cable package, @ least 1 day of money back due 2 that horrific performance on 106 & Park. Hey people, let`s raise our level of standards 4 music and musicians. Let`s continue 2 speak out when multi-millionare, the business market, the government or just plan ol crocks try 2 run game or try 2 pass us on a $4 dollar bill. Continue 2 show or voice u`r disguist for anything less than "professional"!!!!! We deserve better.

Regard`n the young Japanese man, I simply told him that he had waited 2 late 2 try and start a professional career as a singer. I explained that he was already 10 years behind someone who is the same age as him, who is also try`n 2 become a professional singer. What he`s do`n is a hobby and what I`m teach`n u is a profession. Don`t get the 2 confused. However, when the translator begin 2 speak, most of what I said was washed down and basically completely misinterpreted.

I speak a little japanese and understood what the translator was say`n. Later I confronted the translator and ask him why he didn`t accurately translate what I had said. He explained that even though he agreed with what I was say`n, he didn`t want 2 discourage the student from try`n!!!!!!!!!!! My reply was, "So when do u ever expect him 2 learn"?

Brosiacs, if our children, nieces, nephews, god-children or whomever, r ever gonna learn, we must always tell the truth. N my opinion, if that japanese man had started perform`n @ age 5 and later @ the age of 18 began ask`n me those types of questions, I would encourage him. What have u been do`n til this point? Don`t u have strong areas, other than sing`n, that u`ve been work`n on til now?

But now he`s 18 and is try`n 2 get his start n the professional world, it`s time 4 him 2 learn; u r now @ the age that what u becomes labeled, A PROFESSION-NOT A HOBBY.

BACK ON THE WAGON

Hello Brosiacs . . ...I know that`s it`s been a minute since the last blog but I`ve needed a little time 2 start prepar`n 4 the upcom`n season n my life. Since my last blog, written n July, I`ve had the wonderful opprotunity 2 begin a tour, in Japan, with Universal record`n artist, Ai.

This tour`s gonna go from November til December, with spot dates from August-October. Ai is a real sweetheart who has paid and is pay`n her dues 2 the music world. Right now, she is bang`n the charts and t.v. n Japan; winning MTV`s 2006 Best Video of the Year award. She has also been featured on numerous magazine covers like; Woofin, Dance Style, and Luire 2 name a few. Trust me when I say that this young lady is tak`n Japan by surprise and her best is yet 2 come.

It didn`t occur how special that she was 2 me, until she showed up @ my surprise birthday party August 5, hosted by Prodigy International Entertainment. . . . . Ai was there and even came up 2 the mic and did a little speech directed 2 me. . .. It was so cute. It was amaz`n 2 c this major singer stand`n @ the podium speechless about what she should say about me, to me. She set the mood 4 the night and all others who followed helped 2 complete an extravagent and exquisite b-day party.

All of Tokyo`s Who`s Who artist were there. . . .It was an event that people who attended and those who didn`t attend, were talk`n about 4 months. . . . lol. . .Still got people ask`n me when we gonna have another 1. . . .lol. .Although I can`t answer when we`ll throw another party, I can say that I`m gonna get my manager, Robbie Danzie, 4 surpris`n me. No need 4 me 2 go n 2 details but mark my words, Robbie; I`m gonna get u back 4 that 1. . . . lol. .

So, . . . . . . .. . .that`s all 4 now. I don`t really have any words of wisdom or personal thoughts about things go`n on n the world but stay tuned 4 the next Brosia Chronicle issue that will discuss the upcoming collaboration with Mint Condition. . . ..

ALL THAT I AM IS A RESULT OF WHAT I`VE THOUGHT

We`ve all heard of the infamous story by Rudyard Kipling, "The Jungle". This amaz`n imaginative story tells of a young boy who was abandoned n the jungle and raised by wolves.. . . . ..Although we all know, n reality, nothing like this could happen, the 1 point that sticks out most n my mind, has 2 deal with the thought of the young man n this story.

How n the world could an individual, who looks so different from the other creatures around him, actually b lieve that he was n his rightful place n life? Do u think it ever crossed his mind, that he was different from everything around him? The point 2 which I`m driv`n has 2 deal with, "ALL THAT I AM IS A RESULT OF WHAT I THOUGHT".

Much 2 my dismay, I often compare myself 2 that young lad n Kipling`s story. I wasn`t abandoned but I have felt alone on many journey`s n different foreign lands; Israel for 8 months and Japan for the past 5 years. And I wasn`t raised by some savage beast but I have survived the savage hardships and rentless pursuit 2 build a worthy list of accolades n this entertainment industry; that would prove me worthy of acceptance.

I don`t write these blogs 2 specifically discuss me. Or 2 brag about the things that I`ve done or the people that I`ve worked with. I write these blogs 2 show people that someone like me, initially no different from any of my Brosiacs [refer 2 Friday, May 26, 2006 MUSIC IS MY LOVE blog 4 the definition of Brosiacs] , has climbed the ladder of life because, simply what I think is what I become. Right now, someone is sit`n @ home try`n 2 figure out how 2 break free and pursue a career n the musical industry. And the information that I`m about 2 give u is a sure way n but it will require a great sacrifice.

If u r truly someone who wants 2 get n 2 this industry and u`ve tried everything and nothing seems 2 work, then grab a pen and piece of paper because I`m about 2 give u these secrets for free. As a matter of fact, these secrets can not only b used for people interested n a musical career; it can b used by anybody for any purpose as long as he/she has the ability 2 rationally think.

This secret lies n the ability 2 align u`rself with the universe so u can receive what the universe is offer`n u: EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! People often say, "u have not, because u ask not". Well that`s not true. We have not, often times, because we limit ourselves 2 what we can receive or get from the universe. Have u ever wondered why it seems that real music (Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke etc. . .) is dead and that "crunk", "hip-hop" and "rap" music is bang`n the billboard charts, recently? Well, it`s because the people who make this music have figured out the ability 2 rationally imagine themselves with all of the money, the cars and women that their hearts desire, before they actually physically achieve their goals.

Master P, Lil John and the Eastside Boyz, Puffy, literally imagined themselves n a position that would allow them 2 obtain all the money, women, cars etc. . . .long before they achieved success. And we should b the same way. Here`s food 4 thought; how is it that someone who u were think`n about earlier calls u on the phone later n the day? What about, when u inquire about a mutual friend that u haven`t seen n years and the next day u run n 2 the person u asked about, maybe @ the super market or on the street? It`s because u`ve literally imagined u`rself n 2 a situation that creates energictic vibes to attract those people (person) 2 u.

The first secret requires u 2 write down what u want. As I said earlier, those rappers write down what they want. Just listen 2 their lyrics. . . They`re tell`n u everything that they want n life.. . .lol . . .Really, check out the lyrics 2 some of these songs. Within the first verse of the songs, the rapper has already told u that he/she want or has, ____(u feel n the blank)___________??

Secondly, don`t set any limitations 2 the things that u want. If u truly b lieve that u want a good man/woman; why would u limit u`r wants 2 half a man/woman. So if u wouldn`t ask for a half a man/woman, why limit u`r self 2 half a record deal or "just enough 2 b comfortable". By the way, what the does that mean? Comfortable with what? Enough 2 b comfortable, o.k.; 4 how long? lol. . . ..Why limit u`r request. Go ahead and request 4 million if u thinks that`s enough 2 make u`r life worthwhile. Don`t worry, when u figure how 2 make this work 4 u, u can request more record deals and other rewards that the universe is wait`n 4 u 2 claim.

I`m not rich, own a lot of land, have expensive cars or any of that stuff. But I realize that all that I am, is a result of what I thought. I didn`t just show n up Japan 1 day, like a ginny n a bottle or something. I actually saw myself be`n here and sing`n 2 audiences of thousands and I`ve done just that. People have packed the Cotton Club, Nakano Sun Plaza and Club Mandala just 2 hear me, K.D. Brosia the unsigned independent artist, sing. The reason that I`m giv`n people the secret now, is because b 4 I receive all of my request from the universe, I don`t want people 2 think that it just suddenly came n existence. I want people 2 understand the process that I went through 2 receive what the universe has n store 4 u.

What`s happen`n 2 me is happen`n because I thought it n 2 existence and literally imagined myself n this situation and allowed the universe 2 grant me the rewards of my positive, creative, energictic thought. One of the most common stories that I hear is about how people r n die or desperate need of money. And 1 day they go 2 the mail box and what_____________________?? U guessed it. U already know the story. A check from something that happened months ago appears. A check u been wait`n on, 4 months, finally shows up when u needed it. How is that? U might say it is GOD. . .Well, I`m not say`n that it isn`t GOD. But the information that I`m giv`n u isn`t religious or about the power of GOD. It`s spiritual and about the power of u`r mind. Religion is the definition, spirituality is the actual practice and work that puts us n alignment with the universe. lol. ..Don`t b lieve it? Well, if u`ve read this far, probably more people than not, have tried other methods that have them continously live`n paycheck 2 paycheck and/or just get`n by. And u`r go`n 2 church every Sunday look`n 4 the answers with little or no results. But u say, I`ve got faith. Yeah, so did many of our four-fathers who passed away with nothing 2 their names, except mounds of past due bills and over drawn credit issues... . . . . . . . . .

STAY TUNED 4 NEXT WEEKS PART II OF: ALL THAT I AM IS A RESULT OF WHAT I`VE THOUGHT.

Time seems 2 slip slowly away when I look back on my short lived life. Not even from the moment of conception but n relation 2 my musical journey. . . .lol. . . .Not even any further than last year. . . . As a matter of fact, from the begin'n of this year. . . . .

Plan and simple, things n my life haven't been perfect but I know that my changes is com'n. I was interviewed last week n a publicized newspaper n the state of Mississippi called, "The Clarion Ledger" ( http://clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060706/ENT/607060348/1264/ent ). I was totally surprised that people were even aware of my existence. It made me feel like a million bucks, Brosiacs. This article comes only after 2 weeks, of my live performance @ the Cotton Club; Tokyo, Japan.

Most of the things occur'n n my career would not have been possible without proper representation/management. I really have 2 thank Prodigy International Entertainment for stick'n there necks out there on the line, tak'n me n and positively promot'n me. This has been a great begin'n with a great management company; I can assure the world, that the best is only yet 2 come.

No real talent who is try'n 2 break n 2 the major-the big show- should dare 2 enter n 2 this dog eat dog industry without management or proper representation. There r so many aspects of the representation that have 2 b considered; legal, business, money, tour etc. . . But everyone who is serious should have someone as a spokes person, who is look'n out 4 the success of the individual artist career.

In some cases, we c moms and dads who act as representation for the artist but personally, I would encourage artist 2 seek consultation outside of the family for a number of reasons. 1st of all, some things r gonna go down and u r go'n 2 want 2 talk 2 u'r representation strictly on a business level. If u'r mother or father act as u'r representation, u may fell restricted n what u can or can't say. . .U think about it. . . .2 ndly, when it comes 2 the money aspect, the guilt factor or u owe me factor shouldn't play a part n how much money should be paid 2 u or u'r representation. (Normally an agent gets %15-%30 of artist fees. But if u'r parents/relatives r n it; well remember I paid 4 u'r college and the car that u wrecked and any other personal issues, don't need 2 b part of the business negotiations).

So many times, artist think that we can enter n 2 this field on our own merit.. . . . .lol. . . .What a big misconception! Most of the major labels won't even take u serious without some type of representation. And even if they do consider u, expect 2 get taken 4 a ride, especially if u don't have u'r own type of legal counselors 2 represent u when the money talk hits the table. Under no circumstances should an artist accept legal representation offered from the majors. Hello. . ..they work 4 the people who want 2 hire u. . .

Many of the artist are concerned about the money woes that r associated with proper representation. Listen, if someone really b lieves n u, they will invest and not require any money from u, up front. But understand they will expect the money, that they invested n 2 u, back @ a later time n u'r career. Often they will want it or require their money b 4 or in the sign'n contract with the majors, b 4 u receive any money. This is only fair, needless 2 say, they've invested their money n 2 the artist and they deserve 2 recoup some, if not all of the percentage of the funds previously invested.

But above all remember that u r the artist and the artist needs 2 know what's go'n on with his or her career @ all times. The artist is n control but needs representation 2 help make the transitions from one job 2 the next smoother. Enjoy it b/c u love it but b smart about it b/c it is u'r job. . . . . .

It matters not how straight the gate, how charged with punishment the scrolls, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul " W.E. Henley

THE COTTON CLUB X-PERIENCE

So many thoughts rushed through my mind as I stood on that stage. How n the world did I get here, @ this very moment, and where would I b another year from now? Then, the sound of a cymbal crash warped me back n 2 the present, my mouth opened and b 4 I knew it, I was sitt'n back stage thank'n everyone for a wonderful performance, 2 a packed house @ the Cotton Club; Tokyo, Japan.

I've had so many dreams n my life, but none of which ever involved perform' n @ such a wonderful venue. The COTTON CLUB X-PERIENCE, has truly set precedence n my professional career. Todays entry will basically outline the events that ocurred dur'n the day of June 21, 2006.

I want 2 thank everyone that came out 2 the show. It would not have been a suceess without any of the hundreds of people that packed the house 4 the show. To all of my family, friends and Brosiacs, thank u 4 com'n out 2 hear an unsigned, independent, neo-soul artist and demand'n more of "Music 4 Yo Soul".

11:00 A.M. - The day begin after I woke up and gave reverence 4 the bless'n that I was go'n 2 receive. Next, I immediately called my manager, got my information, and turned off the phone (it never fails, on the day of the show I got more phone calls than I can handle. . .People want'n tickets, passes, etc. . .I don't mind that but I just don't have time 4 those type of issues the day of a show. . . So I let my manager deal with it). Afterwards I started on a very demand'n task, my hair. 4 those of u who haven't looked @ the photo's, website, etc .. . .I have locs. Loc'n my hair takes me all of 2 hrs. 2 do. .lol.

2:30 P.M.- I arrived @ the venue around 2:30 P.M. and the first thing 2 greet me, was a big photo of myself outside of the Cotton Club. Almost felt kind of scary. As I approached the door, I immediately heard the band work'n on my music. . . .. It was like the heavens had opened it's doors and rained upon me. . .

We went through a sound check, finished, and began 2 get ready 4 the show. This is when the pressure begin 2 build. . . .I tried 2 play the PSP, listened 2 Anthony Hamilton, but nothing subsided the anxious itch. . . .

Tick-tock. . . Tick-tock. . . .

6:50 P.M. - Show time is 7:00 P.M. and I'm still not dressed yet. . . lol. . .It dawns on me that it's almost time when my m.d. bangs on the door and summoned me 4 the spiritual enrichment b 4 the show. I quickly put on some pants and come out. . .I look around the room and realized that I was about 2 make history and I was about 2 do it with some of the most respectable indidividuals n the music profession. Bigg Boyy T (Keys), Penny K (keys), Philip Woo (keys), Kenji "Jino" Hino (bs), Lorenzo Braceful (dr), Andy Wulf (sax), Paula Johnson (back vocals), Felicia Enix (back vocals) were all about 2 make history on the infamous Cotton Club stage.

7:00 P.M. - K.D. Brosia makes Cotton Club history.

8:00 P.M. - The greatest feel'n of completeness. . .

9:30 P.M. - The start of the second show 2 a stand'n room only crowd.

10:45 P.M. - A state of emergency. K.D. Brosia and his crew have torn the club up . . . lol. . . . .

Right now, don't have any photo's from the show but I will have them n a few days and I will publish them later 4 all 2 view. This is the begin'n Brosiacs, u'd better get on board now b 4 the train leaves the station. Now leave'n from, "THE COTTON CLUB X-PERIENCE".

MUSIC IS MY LOVE

Brosiacs, I`m sorry 4 the delay n blogs n the past few weeks. . ... . .As I mentioned, I`ll b mov`n 2 Long Beach, CA soon and with all the pack`n, arrang`n and plan`n it has taken it`s toll on me. Another reason that I haven`t made 2 much of an effort 2 preach, is due 2 the part of over preach`n.

Simply, I don`t want 2 over preach. When I say things, I want people 2 actually take notice. And I want people 2 feel the sincerity of the words that I have 2 say. Truthfully, I don`t want 2 spread myself 2 thin. With that be`n said, "MUSIC IS MY LOVE".

Recently, I was n an interview and the interviewer asked me, "if I had ever been n love". I instinctively replied, "my only love has been music". . . . .She laughed and told me that it was absurd and almost impossible 4 me 2 have never been n love with a person. And she also asked me, "if I`d never been n love, then how could I write songs like `How Many Ways 2 Say Love` or `Do Right By U`"? She was amazed that I could create lyrics about love songs but had never personally experienced love n regards 2 a relationship.

Brosiacs, I can honestly say that everything that I`ve done n life, til this point, has been predicated by music. I left Mississippi [MS] for music, moved 2 Atlanta [Atl.] for music, moved 2 Japan 4 music and am finally mov`n 2 Long Beach, CA based on the premises that music is a part of my soul and that if I make this move that I will b satisfied. Even if I`m not satisfied long term, @ least my immediate fix could b subsided (lol) . .. . . I don`t expect anyone 2 understand what I feel but I think the most basic point that I do want people 2 know is, love 4 every person is different.

And because not everyone loves the same, we should not b so quick 2 tell some one what love should or should not b like for someone other than ourselves. . .. Everyone is different, so naturally my love will b different from the love of others. However, that doesn`t mean that my love has been less of an experience because it wasn`t directed towards a physical be`n.. . .. .

Another individual interjected and ask, "what do u think love is"? I laughed and answered, " love is what u make it. Love is the 1 thing n life that has put me @ my highest of highs and droped me 2 my lowest of lows all n 1 day". My love, Brosiacs, is music and c`n the face of people as they listen`n 2 my music. My love is, when people/Brosiacs I don`t even know come 2 me after a show and tell me how much they loved the way I sang a song or their favorite song. My love, is know`n that @ my lowest of lows or n my highest of highs, music always brings me back 2 a medium; a level of tranquility. This is why, "MUSIC IS MY LOVE" . . . . .
